Wednesday, August 11th, 20102 days and counting to WPPM Conference at Berjaya Times Square Hotel… and I am so excited already. I am almost done in preparing material for my live shoot demo.
There will be sharing from cool photographers with lots of exciting topics all under one roof! In my opinion, where else can you get such good gathering. Photographers out there, if you are not yet a member… what are you waiting for? It’s not too late still. You can still sign up here.
Besides being there as a conference attendee, I am also going to share with you about speedlight control and technique and how to effectively use it both during the day and at low-light situation. I’ll also be sharing tips on how to pose the bride/model. It’s going to be a fun and practical experience and you can catch me at my Live Shoot session at Session C, 2.00pm-3.30pm, 14th Aug. It’s going to be interactive and feel free to ask me questions.
I can’t wait to meet you all! Please do come and say hi to me, I will be there during the whole conference and it’s very easy to spot me. See you real soon!
Something different
Monday, April 26th, 2010I was shooting under an event company last week covering the MSIG Club Select Conference at Pullman Hotel. There are more event and commercial shoot in April than wedding shoot and I kind of like it. It’s something fresh and allows me to take a break and cook up new ideas for my coming pre-wedding shoot in May.
Here are some group photos that I shot at the hotel lobby. I was shooting from the balcony area and with careful preparation and good communication with the team, we managed to execute the group shot smoothly. Well done! We managed to do 3 group shots consisting of approx 200 people to 100 people in less than 15 minutes.

I started 2010 with my 1st AD shoot with a lovely couple whom, the bride is a long Internet contact of mine. It’s a wonderful start and with many plans laid ahead, I am positive that 2010 will bring my journey as a wedding photographer to a new level! 2009 was great though there are some challenges. It was challenges that helps me grow, it’s nothing bad. We live and learn. My sincere apologies for any misunderstanding, and imperfection if any.
I would like to thank all my fans and clients too, who put their trust in me to capture the moments in their big day and for all your countless support! To my friends and family, you are the best! Without you, I won’t be at where I am today.
I met new friends during my 2nd 2010 wedding shoot at Kluang, Johor. Thanks so much to Darren and Christine for your great hospitality during my stay there. The food was awesome, and thanks for inviting me for the drinking session. It has been a while since I went for a late night drinks =) To Sashi and Slyvia, you are a great couple and don’t forget to take more photos! You can be a great photographer, who knows you might end up in the wedding industry one day.
2010 will see many new promotions and wedding concepts from Edwin Lay Photography!
