I was shooting under an event company last week covering the MSIG Club Select Conference at Pullman Hotel. There are more event and commercial shoot in April than wedding shoot and I kind of like it. It’s something fresh and allows me to take a break and cook up new ideas for my coming pre-wedding shoot in May.

Here are some group photos that I shot at the hotel lobby. I was shooting from the balcony area and with careful preparation and good communication with the team, we managed to execute the group shot smoothly. Well done! We managed to do 3 group shots consisting of approx 200 people to 100 people in less than 15 minutes.

In conjuction of POPPIES PRECIOUS LITTLE ONES FAIR 2009 at The Spring from 9th Oct – 11th Oct, I will be doing a children portraiture at Poppies booth (Centre Court) on the 11th Oct (Sunday) from 2pm – 4pm.

If you are Poppies members, please do drop by for a FREE 5R photo of your child. Each member are entitled for 1 photo each, for non-member, worry not… you may have a photo of your child at RM5 per 5R photo. There will be props and toys at the booth for the photo shoot. Besides the photo shoot, please do pick up my brochures at our table for more photography offers. See you there =)

One of important event assignment in July this year was to cover the River Float Parade during the 218th Ruler’s Conference and Sarawak Regatta. Under the umbrella of Alvin Leong Photography, I was not only shooting the event, but gained good experience as coordinating-photographer. It was a totally different experience cause I had to coordinate with 3 of my teammate(photographers) and also 3 member of video crew covering the event for that night. It was a great night, and an honour for me to be able to work side-by-side with my friends and team members. You all did a great job! Looking forward to shooting as a team again in the future. Last July, I was involved in a few event shoot under Events Horizon. Prudential was having their mid year conference in Kuching, and prior to the conference, they had a Welcome Dinner at the Grand Margherita Hotel poolside. It was a 3 days event shoot for me, starting with Kuching Waterboard 50th Golder Anniversary Dinner photoshoot the day before.

My workstation gave up after many years of service. While searching for what specs to buy for the new system, I was lucky that one of my friend offered me a very good deal for a new PC. It took me almost one full month to get it up and running, and I still haven’t fully transfered all the important data from the old hard disk to the new system.

Besides wedding shoot, one of the interesting job in July was to cover for the River Float (218th Ruler’s Conference) and Sarawak Regatta.
