Mr. Koh Kwang Mok’s 80th birthday celebration & Jin Seng Hong (1971) Sdn. Bhd. 45th Anniversary was celebrated at 8pm on the 8th of Aug 2008, which translate to a prosperous 88888 figures.

2 days before the actual date, Shen and I went to the location to photograph Mr. Koh’s family. I didn’t take a lot of photos, and this is the first time we use this kind of technique, so most of the time I was handling all the technical stuff.

Early morning view from the sea

I love my photography assignment, be it wedding, portraiture or commercial, it’s always an adventure for me. For this assignment, I am honoured to be able to document Santubong Suites and its private beach.

After weeks of proposal and emails exchange between me and Alice, finally her management give a green light for the shoot. On a cold, cloudy morning, the first shoot requires me to go to sea. I LOVE BOATS! When I arrived at Santubong village, the friendly boatman brought me for a ride from the village to the waters surrounding the apartment. The weather was cloudy but I managed to get some good photos, plus I got to test the performance of the Nikon VR’s capability while shooting on a slow moving boat. The result was pretty good.

After shooting from the sea, it’s time to shoot on the location. The photo above was taken from the garden.

I came here a few months back for the FRIENDS REUNION assignment. Our shooting finale was at the pool area of this luxury apartment. I like the pool concept, you will see more of how the pool looks like in the next few photos. Personally, I am a water person, so I have high expectation on any luxury apartment’s pool design. The pool here at Santubong Suites suits my preference.

I like the room’s layout, far from the hectic city lifestyle, I expect a cosy, quiet and simple yet luxurious environment to live in.

080808 was Ben & Ai Ling’s ROM.

I was part of the team (Shen & Alicia) to capture this wonderful couple’s pre-wedding session. Ben & Ai Ling is such a sporting couple, spontaneous and it was a fun shooting session.

Below are some of the photos.

Permai Rainforest Resort

August 14, 2008

Back in college years, Permai Rainforest Resort is one of my favorite weekend getaway. I love to swim here, the beach is nice and it’s far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Despite my frequent visits, I’ve never tried the famous “High Rope” obstacle course which is very famous especially after being a shooting venue for Amazing Race Asia for 3 times.

This time, I came here for a commercial shoot together with Shen. Initially I thought the shoot is just covering the chalets, tree-house and the resort’s area. Then I was surprised when told that we need to shoot the famous “High Rope”, to be able to get a proper action shot, we actually have to experience the obstacle course! I was on my sandals and Shen was in his Crocs…. but regardless…. we all went up there, had tonnes of fun shooting and the best part is the finale… the “Flying Fox” where you have to rappel more than 50 feet down “freefall style”. FUN!
