Benedict and Alvina’s wedding was my last job in December 2008. I got the job through a reputable bridal house in Kuching. Thank you to Ben and Alvina, and the bridal house in putting their trust in me to capture the best moments in the wedding day.

Happy Chinese New Year

January 26, 2009

Happy Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year)!

Gong Xi Fatt Cai.

This is a very happy year for me and my family. My 1 year old son, Alexander is really enjoying his house visiting today. I am sure he’ll be very happy if he can count all the “ang pau” monies.

Thank you for all your support, I promise that in this year of the Ox, I’ll keep on improving my photography skills to serve you better.

Meeting up with the bride and groom before the actual wedding day has always been my practice. Why? Besides breaking the ice (if I haven’t meet with the couple earlier), this is the time where the couple and I discuss about the flow of event during the wedding day. Understanding more always helps.

I was engaged by Mei Leng and Danny about 6 months ago. We met for the first time at Jin Hold (actually translated to Golden River/Gold River) apartment right after I returned from Bintulu from shooting a wedding there.

On the wedding day, Danny and his buddies arrived ahead of schedule. Entering the room is an easy task but to get to the bride is the tricky part. A few riddles must be solved, most of the riddles contains hints related to Mei Leng. It only took a while for Danny to solve it all. Way to go Danny!

After the Kuching wedding, Mei Leng and Danny had another reception at Penang. My friend from Penang, Hayashiartz was engaged by Mei Leng (yes she is from Penang) to cover their wedding reception there.

Aileen and Chung Chieng’s big day was celebrated on Christmas day in Bintulu. A blessed day for the couple and also a blessing in disguise for me. When I met Chung Chieng and Aileen for the first time in Kuching, I found out that besides football, photography is also one of his hobbies. It’s not long after our initial chat that we dwelled into photography talks.

The wedding itself was celebrated at the groom’s hometown, Bintulu. Shen and I partnered for this shoot, it is always a pleasure to shoot along side Shen.

Here are some of my favorite shots from the wedding.
