Joyce and Kerry

July 24, 2009

When Joyce called to engage me as her wedding photographer, little did I know that her group of friends are my old time buddies whom I lost contact for 3 years already. It’s a blessing indeed really, to meet a new friend and also finding my old time buddies again.

Here are some of my favourite shot taken at Joyce and Kerry’s wedding day.

I am suppose to update my blog weekly, but I was held up with a few photoshoots, album designs and slideshows. I am so sorry for the delay but there should be a wedding post at the end of this week once all the backlogs are cleared.

Here are some sneak preview of the coming posting.

Elise and Gabriel

July 7, 2009

What a lovely couple. Yup that sums up this wonderful wedding of Elise and Gabriel. The wedding ceremony starts off at Four Point Hotel, with the arrival of the groom and his best men. A lot of event took place, with outrageous games prepared by the brides team. The church service took place at Agape Baptist Church and followed by a wedding reception at Thian Court.

I always like it when the maid of honour and the brides maid don a matching dress. It adds a little accent to the wedding and it turns out nice in photos.

Here are some photos taken during the wedding day. Click here for more photos.

Photos on my blog

July 7, 2009

Being a professional photographer, I tend to get various comments from people that I meet. The comments are ranging from constructive, good, critics and at times amusing comments. But there are times where I get weird comments too. No harm done, I love comments and please do keep it coming. Without comments, there are no room for improvement.

I think it is good also to clear some doubts for my readers. Here are some common questions that I get.

“Did you take all the photos at your website?”. “Can I get the softcopy straight out from your camera after the wedding?”.

All the photos posted at my blog are 100% taken by Edwin Lay. Unless stated otherwise (with credit to the other photographers), all the photos are taken by me and also post-processed by myself. Taking the softcopy straight out of the camera is possible but without post-processing or retouching, the photos will not look nice if you decide to print it later on. So it is not my practice to give unedited copy.

It’s not an easy job doing retouching too, imagine there are series of 300 photos, where I have to adjust various settings like colours, contrast, skin adjustment, cropping and other advanced retouching, photo by photo. Yes you guessed it right, sleepless nights of time in front of the computer.

OK. Back to editing and enough rant for today.
