Alan and Maggie’s Pre-Wedding
July 22, 2008This pre-wedding is based on the trash-the-dress concept, which is common in the Western countries.
Most couple want their wedding experience to be a memorable one, one that last a lifetime. Alan wants the photo shoot to be different, not the usual studio shoot which is very commercialise in Kuching. When Georgette & I suggested the theme to them, I was a bit worried that Maggie or Alan might reject it. Few days after the proposal, I got so excited when Maggie came to me saying, yeah this is a good idea… lets do it. Georgette is the brain of this whole project.
Since the theme is trash the dress, no bridal shop is going to let us trash their dress, so everything has to be DIY.
Maggie’s dress is made entirely from scratch. The mastermind behind the dressmaking is Peggy. She is an architect but has a very good talent in making dress out of nothing. With the help from Georgette and Maggie, the end result of the dress is magnificent. The material is bought from used cloth store, and the bag used in this shoot is an old antique bag that belongs to Maggie.
The bouquet is also hand made, too bad I forgot to take closeup of the flower.
Please check out Georgette’s posting here.
Shen and I worked as a team to capture this very special moment.
Here is the first part of the photo shoot, 2nd part coming soon
